International flights to and from the Sulaimani International Airport will resume next week following Iraqi-imposed ban on international flights to and from the Kurdistan Region on September 29th.

Shwan Dawdi, Iraqi MP from PUK bloc, told Millet Press on Thursday that following extensive dialogue and meetings between PUK parliamentary bloc and Iraqi federal government official during the past few days, international flights to and from the Sulaimani International Airport will resume next week. Dawdi added that cargo international flights will resume first and it will be followed by passenger international flights.

A ban on international flights into Iraq's Kurdish region has gone into effect after the central government in Baghdad retaliated against a vote for secession that has also drawn opposition from neighboring countries.
